2020 Mazda3 unexpectedly has a 'racing track' version
Mazda has officially joined the TCR club, along with other brands such as Audi, Volkswagen, Hyundai, Alfa Romeo or Honda with the all-new Mazda3 TCR developed by Mazda Motorsports. The car is recognized as a standard operated by FIA and is capable of attending any of the 36 stages worldwide.
The first tournament that the unique Mazda3 will attend is the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge 2020, which takes place early next year.
To transform a common car into a racing car, Mazda Motorsport had to go through a lot of stages and it can be said that they are particularly successful in design (temporarily not discussed to operate because it has not been verified). The Kodo design language is extremely harmonious with the new body when added with large wheel arches, Volk racing wheels, chassis and aerodynamic kit.
This can also be a great design platform for Mazda to develop a Mazdaspeed3 version against Volkswagen Golf GTI and Hyundai Veloster N.
The car engine, according to TCR rules, uses a 350-horsepower four-cylinder. Special 6-speed gearbox is partner Long Road Racing (used to develop MX-5 racing cars with Mazda) providing integrated gear shift lever. The drive system used is front-wheel drive.
